GROUND WATER PROTECTION
STATE OF INDIANA DRAFT GENERIC
PESTICIDE MANAGEMENT PLAN

COMPONENT 10. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

The generic state management plan (SMP) will represent public participation through the Indiana Ground Water Task Force, its authorized work groups, the Pesticide Review Board and public meeting/hearings process required for any regulation development necessary for implementation.

Program development has been an ongoing process since 1993 and has involved public and agency input throughout. Presentations concerning the development of the generic State Management Plan (SMP) have been presented to the Indiana Corn Growers Association, Indiana Soybean Growers Association, Indiana Geologist, Indiana Environmental Institute, Purdue University Cooperative Extension and others. Current draft copies of the generic plan were forwarded to all persons indicating an interest in the SMP development during 1994 and 1995. Several comments have been received and incorporated into subsequent drafts as a direct result of the public's interest.
